Summertime--Time for "Questions on the Porch"
Summertime is the
perfect time to reflect with others on some of those pesky
religious questions you and others may have.
Questions like,
- "Who is Jesus, really?"
- "What is Judgement?"
- "How do I know which parts of the Bible are
true?"
- "What is atonement?"
You are invited to join Ken and me on our
front porch to ask your own questions and to share your own
experiences on Sunday evenings at 1414 Hillcrest, one block
east of Grace, July 8 through August 12
from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Something cool and
refreshing will be served.
We will hope you will join us for
"Questions on the Porch."

Ken
Lyon Honored By Students
Ken Lyon was
honored by 18 of his present and former Education for Ministry (EfM)
students on May 25 at a luncheon at the home of Jim
Edgy. After mentoring classes of scores of
students from many denominations and backgrounds over the past
eight years, Ken had announced his retirement.
At this point, his students went into action to prepare
a surprise celebration following his final class.
After the delicious buffet offered by the host in his
home's beautiful garden setting, the highlight of the event
was the presentation and perusal of a scrapbook of tributes
and EfM event photos from students.
Ken (second
from the right in the picture) has been a member of Grace
Church for over 30 years, which have included two stints as
Junior Warden. He has worked behind
the scenes by chairing many important projects such as the
worship committee, handicapped accessibility, pipe organ
replacement, rector search and as Grace Notes
co-Editor. He established Grace Church's
website and currently edits the eGraceNotes e-newsletter as
well as supplying photography for it and for the upcoming
member directory.
Congratulations,
Ken, from all of us. Article
