Celebration Sunday: Bring Estimated Giving Forms; Stay for Potluck Luncheon
We're down to the final stages of this year's stewardship process. On Sunday, October 5, we distributed packets containing estimated giving forms to all present. Those who were not in church that day have been sent their stewardship packets by U.S. mail. We will be collecting the estimated giving forms in a special "Celebration Sunday" service on October 19, which will be followed with a potluck luncheon. We hope all will be able to attend. If you are unable to attend the Celebration Sunday service, you can mail your estimated giving form to church at 5501 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45224. You can also contact Roger Perna (513-290-7309, rperna@cinci.rr.com) and he will be glad to come to your house and pick-up your form. Please let us know if we can answer any questions or be of any assistance to you. Sincerely, Your Stewardship Committee

"Amazing Grace" Video CD Available
We now have a video CD featuring 70 pictures of life at Grace Church accompanied by 22 versions of the first verse of "Amazing Grace." We've been told it's quite nice, even moving. You can see and hear a low-resolution version on the web here. If you'd like a CD to play on your computer or TV, let the editor know at egracenotes@gracecollegehill.org. It's free, but if you'd like to make an extra contribution to Grace for what you think it's worth, that's ok, too. We'd like to play this video at Grace Church functions. It would help if we had a TV that was new enough that we could plug our DVD player into it. Got one you don't need?

You, Too, Can Make Beautiful Altar Flower Arrangements
Would you like to make beautiful flower arrangements? You can do it. You start with what God has made. You can't go wrong.
All of us in Grace's Flower Guild started with no experience. We learned on the job. It is fun and rewarding.
All it takes in one Saturday a month. If you're interested, just let Carol Lyon know at 513-542-2941 or carolilyon@aol.com.

Help the Kids Have a Safe Halloween
Life Renewal Discipleship Church, the group that worships here on Sunday afternoons, has invited Grace Church to join with them in providing a safe Halloween for the children of the neighborhood. On Thursday, Oct 30, between 6 and 8 pm we will provide treats for the children, movies, games and play. We will also have a pot luck supper for all of us.
This will be a fun way for our two churches to get to know each other and to help the neighborhood at the same time. We hope many of you will come and join in this fellowship. And if you can help by providing candy, fruit, or other appropriate items for the kids, and bring a dish to share, we will appreciate it.

New Mission Council Member
Carol Lyon was elected at last week's Mission Council meeting to serve the remaining year of Molly Russell's term. Molly had resigned to pursue her graduate degree.
Carol has been a member of Grace church for a number of years. She has previously served on Vestry and as Junior Warden. Currently she serves as chair of the Flower Guild.
Regarding her election to mission council, Carol said, "I believe the work of the Mission Council is to carry out the work God has given us at Grace Church to do. As individuals, we need to be God's agents in church and the world. We do not need to worry about whether our plans are big or little. We need to spend time in prayer and community discerning what God is calling us to do. And then, we need to do what God has called us to do."

Thank You!
Check out the parlor, especially the gleaming windows. Then thank Ruth Bertram for her superb job of cleaning of the parlor.
Also, thank you to those who helped represent Grace to the community at the Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival.

More About ... Hawley Todd
People who come to services at Grace know Hawley Todd as a healing minister at the Peace Altar and as an acolyte. Obviously, he has a life outside of Sunday services at Grace. Here's a little background on Hawley.
