Healing Service Sunday at 10 am

Absalom JonesThis Sunday there is another Celebration of Wholeness and Healing at Grace Church. The Sunday morning healing services are the quiet ones based on the Irish Book of Common Prayer and look more like a "church service" than the Wednesday night services. We have John Thayer playing hand bells during the ministry time rather than the drums.

God will come and bless and touch us as always! Even if you are busy elsewhere, please keep us in your heart and mind and pray for God's grace to be poured out on all who are there! And on those who aren't there!

Blessings, light, love and joy to you all.

Hawley Todd TSSF

Minister of Christ Healing

Thanksgivings

We give thanks for the life of Grace Church member Hope Brooks, who died on May 11 at Twin Towers. Her funeral is today (Saturday) at St. Stephen's Church at 11 am. Hope was one of earliest members of our healing ministry team. Wanda Miller said, "She had a special gift. Her name fit her ability."

Thanks to Ruth Bertram for buying a new stapler for the office.  We really needed it.  She took the time to come into the office and ask questions about what we needed to make sure we got the best one for the job.

Thanks to everyone who works on the bulletin team.  Someone recently praised the team for how well it  works together and for how members only say praise for each other, never negatives. Thanks also to Judy Handy for the work she does to pull the final product together every week.

Thanks to Rhonda for the things she does in the office. Not only does she do a good job making sure the things that need to be done get done right, but she also helps Bob Jones with things like holding the ladder when he's changing the flags. She even stopped everything she was doing and sewed a flag that was torn.

Think about the things you're thankful for. Then let us know at office@gracecollegehill.org.
Altar Flowers

Altar flowers last Sunday were given in memory of Irene Bryeans (Carol Lyon's mother) by Merrilee Atkins.

Altar flowers this Sunday are given in memory of John Akande Mukasa by David and Maria Mukasa.

Altar flowers next Sunday are given in honor of Thomas Cameron by John Thayer.

To donate altar flowers on the Sunday of your choosing, see the sign-up sheet in the church near the upper Belmont entrance. Or call the office. Or donate online here.

Belinda Perna Donates Kidney to Anonymous Recipient

Absalom JonesFrom Roger Perna:

Belinda was able to have her kidney donation surgery Tuesday, May 8, and is resting now at home. She faces a two to three week recovery period. Everything went as planned and the doctors are very pleased with the results.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this time. Belinda feels blessed to be able to serve another person in this way.

Interfaith Weekend at Transfiguration

Interfaith Weekend: Three Sacred Paths to One God is coming to Transfiguration Retreat Center on June 8-10, 2012.

They write:

Join us for a weekend of mutual listening and learning as three faithful people, one from each of the three Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity and Islam), share how and where they find God in their everyday lives within the context of their faith traditions and faith communities.

Our weekend will be led by interfaith dialogue specialist, Paul F. Knitter of Union Theological Seminary in New York City.  Professor Knitter has journeyed deep into interfaith relations from both theological and very personal perspectives.  His unique sensitivity to honoring the religions of others while at the same time enriching one's own faith from what others have to share will make this a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us all.
