Grace Sends Nine Kids to Procter Camp
Thanks to generous donations from many members and friends of Grace Church, we were able to send nine children to Procter Summer Camp this month.
During the first week of July, Grace members Mariah and Mathias Mukasa attended the Boys and Girls Camp for first and second graders. They came home beaming and said that they had a great time!
On July 16 our own Ollie Thrower and six students from Pleasant Hill Academy went up to the London, Ohio, Procter Center to participate in the Intermediate Camp for eighth and ninth graders. Again, the enthusiasm on the faces of these young people could not be measured. Thank you to everyone that made this venture possible, and let's hope that we can send even more students to summer camp next year.
Thanks to Roger Perna for this article.

Healing Service Again at Grace August 8
The regular second Wednesday Celebration of Wholeness and Healing returns
August 8,
starting at 7 pm (actually, drumming starts as early as 6:30). Leader Hawley Todd says he's expecting some observers to fly in from New York City for this service and for the Healing Service the following Sunday at 10am. Previous Wednesday night Healing Service have drawn folks from Columbus and Lexington, so the word is getting out!
Mission Council agreed to continue to have the Free Community Meal and the Healing Service on the same night so folks could partake of both if they wished and the cross-fertilization could continue. |

Peanut Butter? Toilet Tissue? Canned Goods? It's all needed at the Pantry.
You don't have to wait until the first Sunday of the month to donate food for the Food Pantry. Any time is a good time to bring in the items you've been saving for the Christ Community in College Hill pantry. What do they need? Probably whatever non-perishables that appear on your own family's grocery list again and again. Now that the children are out of school, the demand on the family's cupboard is even more extreme. So yes, peanut butter and jelly, cereals, macaroni and cheese, canned meats or tuna, canned soups, fruits and vegetables are all good choices. Roger Perna notes that toilet paper can't be purchased with food stamps but folks still need it! Don't have any of these to spare? Not to worry, just bring as much folding money as you can spare and put it in the can on the sign-up table. CCCH will do the shopping for you. And each hungry tummy says THANK YOU!

Baby Grand Piano Donated for the Great Hall
Perhaps you have noticed the Baby Grand piano in the Great hall. It's been there for a few weeks. Now it has been tuned and is played for our Summer Sunday services.
The piano was a gift from the family of Marc and Mary Henneberger. Marc and Mary were members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Hamilton, OH. They were supporters of the arts in the area. They also were friends of Bill Jenne and supported his music program at Trinity. They made it possible for Bill to attend conventions and workshops, purchase new music and hire soloists and instrumentalists whenever he needed them.
We are grateful that the Henneberger family gave the piano to Grace. It is one of their precious heirlooms and they wanted to find a loving home for it.
We are also grateful to David Mukasa for providing the means to transport the piano from Hamilton to Grace Church. Thanks, David. Thanks also to one of the parolees who repaired the brass hinges on the instrument.
Thanks to Bill Jenne for this article.

Thanks to ...
... all of the Grace Church members who volunteer in the office from the Executive Committee. These volunteers work diligently and well together to keep our office running smoothly and our administrative tasks done correctly and on time. All of them take on the role of an administrative assistant each day they are in. All of them respond to phone and email messages on a timely basis and do any work that is generated by those messages. All of them are in the habit of shifting gears quickly to accommodate immediate needs, which happens often. And, all of them do this excellent work while coordinating with all of the other office volunteers to make sure every one knows what is going on. This in itself is no easy task when you have a different person in the office each day. So, please take some time today to thank all of our office volunteers: Grace Staples who volunteers on Monday, Roger Perna who volunteers on Tuesday, Madeena Nolan and Rhonda Sharp who alternate Wednesdays to cover the office and bulletin printing, and Rhonda Sharp who volunteers on Thursday. We also thank Bill Jenne, Mary McLain and Marjorie Shadd for the work they did when they were volunteers. ... to Grace Church for the birthday celebration last Sunday, from Wanda Miller, "It mean a lot to me. Grace Church is my family. Love you all." ... Life Renewal Church for donating another refrigerator to the kitchen off the Great Hall. ... Bill Jenne for arranging for the donation of the baby grand piano for the Great Hall. ... to everyone who assists in setting up the Great Hall for services. ... to Ken Lyon for taking time to train volunteers on how to do the Powerpoint hymn slides and for all the hard work he did getting the bugs out of the system. We think that this Sunday, they'll work! ... to Mary McLain, Grace Staples and anyone else who helped getting the wonderful food together for the parolee lunch on Thursday. As usual, the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it very much. ... to Bob Jones for getting the drinks and breakfast donuts for the parolee day and for supervising them in the work they did on Thursday. ... to all of the parolees for the hard work they did at Grace Church on Thursday and thanks to their parole officer for her assistance. ... to Jane Strohmeier for the lovely offertory piece last Sunday. ... to the congregation for their prayers for Tom from Judy Handy. His health is improving. He does continue to need prayers. ... to Fr. David, Fr. Bob, Susan, Mtr. Kimberly and Hawley for all they do for the congregation. ... to Fr. Hufford and Hawley Todd from Rhonda Sharp. I just want to thank this church for all of the support it offers. I especially want to thank Father Hufford and Hawley who both helped me through some personal situations last week in ways that are really making a difference for me.
