Healing Services Coming Soon
From Hawley Todd, Dear Friends, It's time again for our monthly Celebrations of Wholeness and Healing at Grace Church. This Sunday at 10 am, we will have our "traditional" healing service. Well, it's as traditional as I would lead one! And on Wednesday at 7:00 pm we have our drumming and Spirit lead Celebration. Bring open hands and open hearts and any instrument you would care to share! On Wednesday, there will also be a Community Dinner going on in the Great Hall from about 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Feel free to come and have a free meal and visit with whomever else is there! Blessings and love to you all. Remember even if you are not able to be physically present with us, you can pray wherever you are and join us in the Spirit.

Sunday Services Return to the Church
This is just to remind you that beginning this week, 9/9/12, our Sunday worship services will be held in the sanctuary. We hope that all who are able will gather with us in the Great Hall at 10:00 to process into the nave, making a joyful noise as we transition from our summer worship space. With our move back, will also be a return to using the hymnals, as well as having the scripture printed (though in the back of the bulletin). Additional bulletin changes will include having the Creed, Prayers of the People and Confession together on a pew card, and continuing to use the Prayer Book for the Eucharistic portion of the service. Looking forward to seeing you! Judy Handy

News from the Outreach Team
Ohio State Parolees Grace Church hosted and served a home-made hot lunch to 9 parolees plus 8 staff and volunteers on July 26th and again on August 23rd. Despite very high temperatures during both of these workdays, the parolees accomplished a great deal in mowing, cleaning up and trimming outside landscaping, cleaning floors, moving heavy loads, etc. Our new Parole Officer, Jennifer Winn, has stated she will not bring anyone who is not willing to work and she is very pleased with our attitude and interaction with the parolees. In fact, she said she would be willing to contribute a side dish whenever needed. We have a few new parolees filling in for others who have left and we are getting to know them. All repeatedly thanked us for the good lunch of baked barbecued ribs that Mary made. We prayed with them, ate with them and thanked them. They are definitely made aware of how grateful we are. Interfaith Hospitality Network Grace Church served dinner to 3 adults, 6 children and another 9 volunteers on August 10 at First UCC Church. (Another 5 guests stayed with relatives for the weekend because the mother was working late.) Meal preparers included Mary McLain, Virginia Chapel, J. White, Wanda Miller and Judy Handy. Wanda, Mary and Ruth Bertram helped with serving and table hosting. Grace Staples assisted with cleanup and joined Mike Nolan, Camille Boykins and J. White in activities with the children. Belinda Perna has stepped up to take on the role of IHN Coordinator for Grace Church in 2013. Belinda will shadow Mary and Grace at the Nov. 2 hosting at CHPC. Meantime, J. White is recruiting additional helpers to train before the date. We will need all our volunteers to make this work. We will be informed of our 2013 Friday dates in December. Community Dinners and CCCH Pantry Monthly community dinners are feeding 60 people and more using Grace's Great Hall utensils and utilities. Donations for the CCCH pantry continue to decline at this time. Grace Staples & Mary McLain

Selected Short Subjects
There will be a Stewardship Committee meeting on Monday, Sept. 10, at 4:30 PM, in the church office. Please attend if you have an interest in helping us plan our 2013 stewardship campaign
Wanda Miller found a lady's watch in the Great Hall Kitchen. It is a nice watch, so I'm sure whoever lost it will want it back. It is in the church office if it is yours or if you know who it belongs to.Roger Perna writes, "I attended Aaron Fleming's complimentary yoga class at Grace Church earlier this week and was very pleased. I left the class energized and stress relieved; I felt better than I did when I arrived. Aaron is an excellent teacher; he is very patient with students. He is holding an open house on Saturday from 1-4 PM. "His beginner classes will meet on Tuesdays from 9:30-11 AM and again from 5:45-7 PM. He also is offering a class specifically for seniors on Thursdays from 4-5:30 PM. If you have any interest, please take me up on my invitation to attend the open house. His web site is collegehillyoga.com."
