Live Music Comes to the Community Dinner
At Wednesday's Community Dinner, in addition to the great gumbos, we had live music performed by trumpet soloist John Thorburn. He just showed up and started playing. What a neat surprise!

Grace hosts free Community dinners on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month from 5 to 7. All are welcome to share the food, the conversation, and now--music!
Altar Flowers

If you would like to donate flowers for the altar, the suggested donation is $35 for one Sunday.  You may sign up on the flower sheet by the Belmont door, or call the church office.  Or you can donate online here.
Try Something New

Maybe your new year's resolution was to try something new. If so, Grace Church has some opportunities for you.

Sunday School

Do you love the laughter of little children? Do you love their enthusiam? If so why not try being a Sunday School teacher? Or if you're not ready to teach, are you willing to be a helper? You could have a lot of fun.   It only requires a couple hours a month. Contact Virginia Chapel at v07libra@fuse.net to volunteer or for more information.

Flower guild

Maybe you have noticed the flowers on the altar and thought "I'd like to do that." Or even "I wish I could do that." Either way, you can do it. You can get on the job training and in no time you can let your creative juices flow and make beautiful arrangements. One hour one Saturday morning a month is all the time that is required. To volunteer or for more information, contact Carol Lyon (513-919-0542, Spikelyon@gmail.com).

Altar Guild

Perhaps the sacred has appeal for you. You can learn to set up the altar for communion. with our revered silver chalices and ewers. You can learn about the liturgical year when you put up our beautiful hangings. On the job training is available. One hour, one Saturday a month is all the time that is required. To volunteer or for more information call Wanda Miller at millerw@fuse.net.

Thanks to Carol Lyon for this article.

 Thanks to ...

... to David Mukasa for donating a new wireless lapel microphone. It worked great last Sunday!

... all who prayed for Patty Rogers.  The doctors are now calling Patty a walking miracle, and I believe prayer and the energy our energy healers are sending her is a big reason.  She is by no means cured, but she is stable.  And, she is still alive when initially the doctors thought she would only live a couple of months.  She has now been with us for 21 months since diagnosis and is stable although refractory.  Read all about it here:

Selected Short Subjects
Grace Church Rectory goes down Belmont Avenue.  In the 1950's, Grace's rectory, formerly located where the education wing is now, was moved down Belmont Avenue to just west of Aiken High School.  You can see a home movie of that event on Grace's Facebook page:  facebook.com/gracecollegehill.

Recent Sermons:
You can see recent sermons preached by Hawley Todd and Ken Lyon in the Grace Church online file cabinet here.

Lost & Found:
  • an Enagic Water Filter Bottle was left in the church and it is now on the desk in the office.
  • a silver bangle bracelet was found in the parking lot.

Contact the office (513-541-2415) if these might be yours.
