Grace Bible Study--What's It About?

I was looking for a better understanding of what is written in the Bible, so on my second week of attending Grace Church I thought I'd see what went on at Bible Study. I'm glad I did. I've been going ever since.

We study the readings that will be used at the upcoming service and discuss "what stands out" about what was said. We share our knowledge , thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

I'm learning more about the Bible and also more about myself, the fellowship, and the people around me. Thanks to Ken Lyon and the people of Grace for this opportunity.

Thanks to Don Wake for this article.

The Bible Study class meets every Sunday at 9 am in the parlor. Try it!

HEAL OUR PLANET!
HEAL OUR WATERS!
RAISE OUR CONSCIOUSNESS!
A Four-fold Benedictine Blessing

May God bless you with a restless discomfort about easy answers, half-truths and superficial relationships, so that you may seek truth boldly and love deep within your heart.

May God bless you with holy anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people, so that you may tirelessly work for justice, freedom, and peace among all people.

May God bless you with the gift of tears to shed with those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation, or the loss of all that they cherish, so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and transform their pain into joy.

May God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you really CAN make a difference in this world, so that you are able, with God's grace, to do what others claim cannot be done.

And the blessing of God the Supreme Majesty and our Creator,

Jesus Christ the Incarnate Word who is our brother and Savior,
and the Holy Spirit, our Advocate and Guide,
be with you and remain with you, this day and forevermore.

Give Up Stress--Embrace Your Chi.
Jackie Millay is conducting workshops at Grace Church from noon to 3 pm on Saturday, February 9.  At the workshops, you'll learn about your vital lifeforce (chi) energy through the ancient Chinese systems of ChiKung/TaiChi.  You'll cultivate relaxation. You'll learn to gather and store the Chi, open and balance the flow of energy through your meridians & much more.  You'll learn a TaiChi dance form, "WuChin", which means the five elements. This is a movement meditation repeating in 4 directions.

There are two workshops:
  • ChiKung from noon to 1:30pm ($30)
  • TaiChi from 1:30 to 3pm ($30).

You can attend both for $55.  Contact Jackie at 513-405-1514 or 513-541-4900.
