A spiritual home where all are welcome; a healing place in a broken world.

Our Values
Quick Links

In the next several issues, we'll be featuring examples of ways that the faith of our members and friends has translated into action.
Supporting Faith in Action at Grace Church
Your support for the ministries of Grace church is impressive. So far we have received $33,157 in gifts or pledges for the 2014 year from 14 donors.   Last year we raised a total of $44,176 from 22 pledgers. Our goal this year is to raise an additional 10% or $48,600. We are well on our way.

Who are the current pledgers/givers?

  • All the members of the Annual Giving Committee have pledged or given.
  • Ninety per cent of Mission council members have given or pledged.
  • Two people are new pledgers and
  • We have three gifts from friends.
Our goal is to have six new pledgers and 15 gifts from friends.

If you have not yet pledged or given to support the ministries of Grace church, please join those who have. You may bring your pledge or gift to Sunday worship and put it in the offering plate. Or you may mail it or bring it to the church office. Or you can simply email your intended weekly, monthly, or annual pledge to spikelyon@gmail.com.  If you can do so, we would really appreciate hearing your intent by October 13, which is the close of the campaign.

Join us for the closing celebration at Snack and Chat on October 13. We will have lunch and entertainment.

Carol Lyon, for the Annual Giving Committee: Sam Spade, Wanda Miller, Grace Staples and J White.

New Worship Volunteer Schedule Posted

See below for a schedule of worship services and participants through the end of the year.  Please mark your calendar with the days you're scheduled.  If you can't make a date, please find a replacement and let Ken Lyon (webmaster@gracecollegehill.org, 513-382-6401) know so he can update the schedule.

Welcome Piper Skye Robertson-Perry

The long-awaited Piper Skye was born September 23 to Tammy Robertson and Lisa Perry, weighing in at 8 pounds, 2 ounces. According to one Facebook page, they're feeling a little tired at the Piper Skye household.

Prayer & Meditation Continues Every Friday Morning at 11 am

Someone asked if the Prayer & Meditation group was still meeting on Fridays at 11 am. The answer is "yes!" The group is led by its members. Leaders have included J White, Carol Lyon, Judy Handy, Gary Armstrong, Jessica Veach, Ken Lyon, Laurie LeClaire and Sam Spade.

This is a time to quiet down and just "be." Sometimes exciting things happen in the quiet.

Thanks to ...

... everyone who assisted with the Community Dinner--those who prepared food on Tuesday night, helped with set-up, helped with final food preparation on Wednesday, helped serve, came to visit with those in attendance, and helped with clean up. This has grown so large that it definitely is a group endeavor, so every bit of help that is offered is appreciated.

... Don Wake, Carol Lyon and Ken Lyon, who worked with the parolees Thursday during their community service day at Grace Church.  New flowers were planted in the garth, the inside of the church was neatened up, and the old pavers near the lower Belmont door were removed.

... the folks who prepared the noon meal for the parolees last Thursday.

... Madeena Nolan for leading last Friday morning's Prayer and Meditation group.

Tell us when you know someone should be thanked for their contribution. Email egracenotes@gracecollegehill.org.

Even though everyone who does something special may not be recognized each week (although we do try), we are aware of how hard members of this congregation work together to keep this church going.  Most of the work done in this church is by volunteers, so thank you to every one in this congregation for keeping our dream of Grace Church alive by your consistent contributions.  None of us could do it without all of us working together.
Person Sought to Provide Child Care During Sunday Worship

We are seeking a person to provide child care during Sunday worship. If you know of someone with the skills to care for a few infants and very young children, please contact J White (513-532-9362, mizwone@gmail.com). This will be a paid position.

We realize that there may be Sundays when there are no children to care for, however we believe that it's very important that this service be provided for those parents who want it.
