A spiritual home where all are welcome; a healing place in a broken world.

Our Values
Quick Links
During the Faith in Action Annual Giving Campaign, we're featuring examples of ways that the faith of our members and friends has translated into action.
Why Do People Give?

Grace church is fortunate to have people who can and do support Grace church through their financial donations.

Why do people give? They give for a variety of reasons. Here are just a few of them.

  • Ruth Bertram: "I like Grace church. I want to see it prosper. It is a very important part of my life."
  • Ken Lyon: "Grace is the kind of church I always wanted to be part of. And I believe Grace's values are God's values. Grace lets me be me and brings out my best."
  • David Mukasa:   "I was brought up to believe that giving to the church is your responsibility. It is part of my ministry."
  • Roger Perna: "I like the way people at Grace church work together and contribute to our common ministry."
  • Grace Staples: "It has been a home to me for 40 years and it has fostered the diversity I value."
  • J. White: "Grace is the gateway to College Hill and the community. It is God's house and I want to keep the doors open where people can be safe and serve God."

If you have not yet donated or pledged, please consider joining those that have. You can donate or pledge by putting your pledge form that was mailed to you in the offering plate or dropping it off in the office. Or you can e-mail Carol Lyon at Spikelyon@gmail.com with the amount of your pledge.  Or you can give online here

Celebration

Next Sunday, October 13, we will celebrate the closing of the Faith in Action campaign after the service. There will be good food and good fellowship.

Carol Lyon, for the Annual Giving Committee: Sam Spade, Wanda Miller, Grace Staples and J White.

Selected Short Subjects

Singers Wanted: We are going to form a choir to sing for special events: Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas. Anyone who is interested in singing is invited to join us at our first rehearsal on Sunday October 20 at 8:45 AM.

Bill Jenne heard some great singing during the summer worship services in the Great Hall and he is certain that the same voices can be gathered together to form a choir for special occasions.

If you think that you can't sing talk to Bill. He's great at coaxing good voices out of someone and he doesn't use force.

The inurnment of Christine Zuniga (John Thayer's sister) too place at Spring Grove Cemetery last Wednesday, Susan Lehman presiding.

An Open Invitation to the Congregation from the Worship Team

The worship Team has been examining our Invitation to Communion. Do we want to be really inclusive or limit our invitation to baptized Christians?  Many Episcopal congregations are considering this issue.

Please join us at the next meeting of the Worship Team, which will be Sunday, October 20, following the worship service and Snack 'n Chat.

Come and share your ideas and beliefs. If you can't be there talk with Bill Jenne and he will share your opinions with the group.

Thanks to ...

... the members of the Prayer Shawl Knitting group for the shawls they prepared for last Thursday's meeting. We were almost out of shawls, and they replenished our coffers enough that we don't need to worry about running out any time in the near future. A special thanks to Madeena Nolan who knitted and donated two prayer shawls.

... Carol Lyon for leading last Friday morning's Prayer and Meditation group.

Tell us when you know someone should be thanked for their contribution. Email egracenotes@gracecollegehill.org.

Even though everyone who does something special may not be recognized each week (although we do try), we are aware of how hard members of this congregation work together to keep this church going.  Most of the work done in this church is by volunteers, so thank you to every one in this congregation for keeping our dream of Grace Church alive by your consistent contributions.  None of us could do it without all of us working together.
Person Sought to Provide Child Care During Sunday Worship

We are seeking a person to provide child care during Sunday worship. If you know of someone with the skills to care for a few infants and very young children, please contact J White (513-532-9362, mizwone@gmail.com). This will be a paid position.

We realize that there may be Sundays when there are no children to care for, however we believe that it's very important that this service be provided for those parents who want it.
