A Center for Spirituality and Healing.

What the Spirituality and Healing Center at Grace Means to one Partner

From a recent note to the Senior Warden from Jackie Millay:
I'd like to share that I feel, in a heart-felt way, that Grace is leading the way/shining the light for building ecumenical/diverse communities that embrace differences and similarities.  That's quite a remarkable task and gift.
I am forever grateful for the 2nd Wednesday healing services.  Hawley Todd is exemplary in combining theology with energetic wisdom for allowing in and feeling more Divine flow.  I might add, also, for adding the element of fun.  There is a strong camaraderie amongst the regular participants along with a sense of welcome and home.  What can be better than that?
The potential is strong here as Grace builds its reputation for inspired service.
I appreciate the opportunity to teach ChiKung/TaiChi here at Grace, and look forward to growing these classes. Possibly classes could be offered for a variety of empowering topics, such as: abundance manifestation, relationship building, etc.
May all peoples involved benefit from these farsighted endeavors.  We do create our realities by our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.
To the heartfelt light shining brightly.
Warmly, Jackie

A Happy Hosting of Interfaith Hospitality Network Guests

Thanks to all who helped to fill the tummies if our IHN guests, warm their hearts and keep them safe last Friday.

The following was written by Susan at First UCC:
"Thanks to Grace Episcopal who served a delicious meal consisting of meat loaf, scalloped potatoes, green beans, tossed salad and jello salad.  There were cookies and ice cream for dessert.  Everyone seemed quite pleased and our 10 month old zeroed in on the jello salad.  A big thanks to Mary McLain, Grace Staples and Jacqueline McCray who were on site.

A special thanks to our overnight hosts, Christine and Jacqueline.  After a calm night,  they served breakfast and had the guests ready for the bus in the morning morning ."

Remember, the next hosting for Grace Church is July 25th.  Please mark your calendar!

In peace and service,   Grace Staples
 Selected Short Subjects

The Worship Participant Schedule has been updated through September and is posted online here. If you're an usher, a reader, or any other scheduled participant, please add your scheduled duties to your calendar.  If you can't serve on your scheduled day, please find a replacement and let Ken Lyon know at webmaster@gracecollegehill.org. ;

Ushers are often the first person that newcomers to Grace's worship service meet. You can be that person that helps folks feel welcomed.  Call Ken Lyon (webmaster@gracecollegehill.org, 513-382-6401) to volunteer your services.

Share Your Treats at Snack 'n Chat. As we experienced this past Sunday, sometimes people decide to take a break on Sunday; even from church! Therefore, J White invites you all to bring your favorite snack--or that SPECIAL dish you've been wanting to try--to SHARE with us all after Sunday morning service. The Summer is a perfect time to relax and try something NEW. So feel FREE TO BRING IN YOUR DELIGHTS TO SHARE WITH OUR OLD & NEW FRIENDS throughout the season!

Three members of Grace Church will be visiting our Cathedral Sunday to learn more about Christ Church Cathedral's Third Century Vision.  David Mukasa, Mary McLain and Candace Moxley will attend Dean Gail Greenwell's congregational meeting that will follow their Sunday worship. The Cathedral Vision is of interest to Grace Church because it calls for partnering with local churches in areas served by our Center for Spirituality and Healing

Jane Strohmeier and Lex attended a reunion of the Pilot Dogs Alumni Association recently. It will be eight years in October since Jane and Lex did their training together. Thirty-six dogs, plus their masters, trainers and family members attended this three-day event. Jane tells us that Lex competed in the obedience competition, but didn't get an award-he got distracted. Jane celebrated her birthday during the event, so she says that her birthday truly went to the dogs.

Altar Flowers

You can donate a bouquet of flowers on the altar on any Sunday in honor of or in memory of anyone. The suggested donation is only $35. Just sign on the flower sheet by the door or call the church office or email spikelyon@gmail.com or donate online at gracecollegehill.org.
Thanks ...

... to Candace Moxley for going to the church last week to fill the printer with paper and staple the bulletin.

Even though everyone who does something special may not be recognized each week (although we do try), we are aware of how hard members of this congregation work together to keep this church going.  Most of the work done in this church is by volunteers, so thank you to every one in this congregation for keeping our dream of Grace Church alive by your consistent contributions.  None of us could do it without all of us working together.
