Healing Service This Wednesday

The monthly Celebration of Wholeness and Healing returns Wednesday at 7pm.  Here's an excerpt from Candy Moxley's description taken from the special Healing Service issue of eGracenotes.
It starts with drumming--a primal call felt deep within our DNA--beckoning community. Everyone is invited to join as evidenced by the spare drums in the circle. You can feel the increase of energy in the air. Chanting follows in a foreign tongue reminding us that inclusion is desired on a global scale. "Welcome, welcome," we say in Swahili.

The service has prayer and a sermon and the clear intent is on healing. Many healers with different training and backgrounds offer laying on of hands, believing that energy follows thought (prayer) and the energy to transform comes from the Divine. There are many stations around the church: padded tables, a padded kneeler at the chapel alter, a blanket on the floor. People are directed to participate as the spirit moves them, in peace and harmony.

See you there!

Bagpipes and Ice Cream Tomorrow

Bagpipes. Tommy Thompson returns Sunday to pipe us back into the nave.  Please join him on the front steps before the service.

Ice Cream.  We return to the nave next Sunday, however that doesn't mean that the Summer is over. Snack & Chat will return to the Small Assembly Room. As a part of all this hustle and bustle, instead of screaming "Let's all have some ice cream!" Snack 'n Chat will be an Ice Cream Social. Please join in by bringing your favorites : ice cream, topping, cookies, etc. J and Anthony thank you in advance for your support.

Bring Toothbrushes & Tooth Paste to Church. J White tells us that she knows of school kids who can use toothbrushes and toothpaste. Ransack your medicine chest and bring your unused brushes and past to church Sunday.

Thanks ...

... to the office volunteers for taking responsibility for keeping the Grace Church public calendar uptodate.  It's great to have a single place to go to see what's happening at Grace.

If you want to thank anyone in the congregation for something they did week (leading the meditation in the Friday Prayer and Meditation group, going above and beyond on a routine responsibility, donating food or cooking for the Community Dinner, etc.) then please send that thank you to Ken Lyon (eGraceNotes@gracecollegehill.org) or the office (office@gracecollegehill.org), so those people can get recognition in Grace Notes.

Even though everyone who does something special may not be recognized each week (although we do try), we are aware of how hard members of this congregation work together to keep this church going.  Most of the work done in this church is by volunteers, so thank you to every one in this congregation for keeping our dream of Grace Church alive by your consistent contributions.  None of us could do it without all of us working together.
Altar Flowers

Flowers last Sunday were given to the glory of God and in memory of her father Shella Bryeans by Carol Lyon.

Flowers this Sunday are given by John Thayer in loving memory of my sister, Christine, on the anniversary of her passing.

You can donate a bouquet of flowers on the altar on any Sunday in honor of or in memory of anyone. The suggested donation is only $35. Just sign on the flower sheet by the door or call the church office or email spikelyon@gmail.com or donate online at gracecollegehill.org.
