Programs and Ministries of Grace

Our mission is to be a place of Grace, a community where all are welcome:

  • to experience the grace of God through worship, study and action
  • to celebrate our diversity and history
  • to care for our community and each other
  • to serve Christ in our lives and work.

In all our ministries, we strive to:

  • Increase participation and inclusion of those seeking God within the ministries of Grace Church.
  • Develop and practice ways of bringing deeper spirituality and healing into the lives of our parishioners and our neighbors.

Worship & Healing

Sunday Worship. Most Sundays at 10 am we celebrate Holy Eucharist (Communion). Everyone is invited to participate fully in this symbolic common meal as a sign of healed relationships between God and humanity and among all people. If you're unfamiliar with the Episcopal style of worship, check out our FAQ page.

About one Sunday a month, we have a special Service of Wholeness and Healing, during which people may come to the altar rail for healing prayers.

Children of all ages are welcome in all of our services. However, child child care is provided during Sunday worship for those who want it.

Christian Formation (education) for children of all ages is provided during the first part of every 10 am Sunday worship service.

We offer healing prayer and laying on of hands at the Peace Chapel altar every Sunday during the 10 am service.

Celebration of Wholeness and Healing. Grace Church conducts a monthly Wednesday evening service that combines several modes of healing to provide opportunities for God to move and bless those who come.

On the second Wednesday of every month, numerous modes of healing occur. The common thread is our desire for each person to become fully alive in the divine Spirit of the living God. Healing prayer and laying on of hands for healing is led by Hawley Todd, TSSF.  Healing drumming is led by Bob Laake. In addition, you might find a Healing Touch practitioner working alongside a Reike master and a Franciscan.

People from all over the Greater Cincinnati area come to participate in healing or being healed. Extra drums are available for anyone who wants to join in the drumming.

Drumming begins at 6:30 pm; the liturgy begins at 7 pm on the second Wednesday of most months. (Check the Grace Calendar.) The structure of the evening is fluid; participants come and go as they desire. The evening ends when everyone has gone home, typically around 10 pm.

Whether you are seeking an experience of God’s love or simply enjoy the beat of the drums, the Celebration of Wholeness and Healing may be for you! Come and join us!

Prayer Shawl Ministry. Members knit prayer shawls for people who have a special need to wear a reminder that healing prayers are being offered for them.

Christian Formation (Education)

We offer Sunday School for children during every 10 am Sunday service.

We offer Bible Study for adults at 9 am every Sunday in the Parlor.

Education for Ministry. Seekers drawn from across the Greater Cincinnati area meet at Grace 36 weeks a year under the mentorship of Hawley Todd, TSSF.

Education for Ministry (EfM) is for anyone who is looking for a a safe place to explore and refine their faith through study and reflection on the bible, church history and modern theologians. In this group learning experience, participants learn to better articulate their faith and to see new ways to live their faith.

Outreach

Parolee Community Service Program.  Each month, parolees come to Grace to fulfill their community service obligations by working with congregation members to beautify our grounds and building. Grace volunteers provide a tasty lunch. Work gets done, and in the process, some healing takes place.

Interfaith Hospitality Network. We participate in College Hill's IHN program that provides food and a place to stay for homeless families.

Grace Center.  We make it a point to make our extensive facilities available to other organizations.

Community Connections.
